The subject seems to be topical, so we have just discovered a nice series of conferences that ended while ours began, dealing with future thinking with different and complementary perspectives to those of the present project. They were proposed this year by the Institute of Societies in Change in the Mediterranean (SoMuM) and focus, in their words, « on the prospective, projection and anticipation of environmental, economic, social and political crises.
We allow ourselves to assume that the troubled, often threatening, potentially anxiety-provoking times are once again stimulating reflections on our ability to invent what comes next, to survive and to progress. The human sciences can therefore undoubtedly shed light in many ways on our anticipation of change and our inclination to innovate by confronting what might happen.
